About the Scholarship

The Study of the United States Institute for Secondary School Educators is held during June 17- July30, 2011in Amherst, Massachusetts, U.S.A.. The Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  The goal of the program is to increase your knowledge and understanding of the U.S. in order to enhance the scope and depth of the high school courses the teacher teaches or supports. 30 participants from 26 different countries will actively participate in questions and answer, small group discussions, case studies, or debates. Africa: Togo, Nigeria, Mauritius, Cameroon, and Mali
East Asia: China, Indonesia, Thailand (Kru Tuke)
Europe: Macedonia, Hungary, Latvia, Bulgaria, Russia, Greece, France (3 participants), Cyprus, Portugal, Belgium, Norway (3 participants)
Near East: Oman
South Central Asia: Pakistan
Western Hemisphere: Barbados, Columbia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Ecuador
